Supporting Original Content Matters
I really want to talk about this because it is very important to me. This isn’t just for me, though, but for all the creators I know and love and wish nothing but the best for.
dA is full of variety and talent, from beginners to experts, to casual artists to professionals. However, it is hard, in the midst of all this, to be recognized for original characters and stories. Yes, a good artist can gain more watchers on the art alone, but what about the learners and in-betweeners? And, what about those people who DO have a following, but the fans are more interested in the artwork and not the history/story behind them?

Hi there! I have an account but I don't much like this site so I don't upload my art here any more. Maybe if dA ever cleans up its crap, I might start using it for art again. I'm only still here because I'm the only one with admin access to a group, and I can't transfer it.
I'm probably being too harsh on dA since it's a huge site and it's hard to manage such a site without making some group feel left out. Really, it's not dA itself I have a problem with (though dA has its flaws of course), I just really don't like the community here. It's too big and general for its own good. I prefer smaller, more focused sites. ...sensible category systems help too, haha.
